Use Default Styles Only (Ignore saved in file) check

When enabled, opening a file will override its styles with the default ones.

Keep Missing Styles check

If checked, the styles with no corresponding name will be kept intact, else they will be discarded.

Use style properties from the first style in Default styles check

3. Use style properties from the first style in Default styles check
When checked, all subtitles with a discarded style will use only properties from the first style from the default styles.
